The airport’s participation in Pride this year forms part of a wider strategy to be an inclusive company and an attractive place to work, regardless of gender, age, race, religion or sexuality. This extends to recruitment, and the airport works closely with myGwork, the global recruitment and networking hub for lesbian, bi, trans and gay professionals. Last year the airport’s myGwork page attracted over 5,000 views with jobs ranging from customer services to finance and legal roles.
In the run up to the biggest Pride parade in the UK, the airport has also switched to a special rainbow logo, the colourful insignia of Pride, to celebrate diversity and the airport’s support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The airport’s sponsorship for METRO will contribute to the charity’s branded float, t-shirts, decorations, live music and vehicle hire. Last year over 300 participants, including London City Airport staff, took part in the event, alongside the leader of The Royal Borough of Greenwich, Councillor Danny Thorpe.

Staff will also join METRO once again this year at the Pride parade, supporting the important work that the charity does in the local community in Greenwich and East London, on the doorstep of the airport.”
